(More customer reviews)I got this toy for my then 10 month old for Christmas, and she seemed to really like it at first. The problem is that this product is hinged, and her fingers got caught in the part close to the hinge, and she could not extricate her finger from the toy by herself. No permanent damage done, but she and I were both quite upset. This toy should have been better designed so that the hinges for "opening" this ball were not quite so stiff, so she would have been able to get free by herself, or better yet, not have gotten her fingers caught in the first place.

Playskool Step Start Walk 'n Ride - Colors May Vary Review

(More customer reviews)Let me start by saying that my 10 month old LOVES this toy. She likes both modes (walk behind and ride on) and she really likes the toys on the body. I would agree with the other reviewer who said that this is a carpet area only walker. The design of this toy is bizarre at best. In order to get the toy from ride on to walker, you have to "snap" the handle into place. This is not easy. It's not impossible, but it does take some practice and the first few times she used it I didn't get the handle secured properly. Also, this toy will tip over. My baby likes to walk to the side of both of her walkers but the other walker has a more stable base. Although I wouldn't recommend this toy as a first walker or a walker for a non-carpeted area (for that I recommend Elmo's Grow and Go Walker Mower by Fisher Price), I do like the fact that this toy has two functions.

(More customer reviews)I must admit that when my mom gave this toy to my 12 month old, I didn't think it would be a hit - boy was I wrong! Both the baby and my 3 1/2 year old think the ball fountain is neat.
With this toy you push the plunger, the music starts and the balls begin popping out of the top, rolling down the shoot and popping out the top again. Sometimes the balls just keep going through the circuit and sometimes they fly out of the toy and roll across the floor. My daughters enjoy it all!
From a parent point, the negatives are that the music is a little annoying and the five balls roll all over and need to be picked up again and again. The positive is that it keeps my little ones engrossed. The 3 1/2 year old can operate it all by herself and the 1 year old can play with it with only a little assistance from me (helping her corral loose balls and pushing the plunger).
We haven't had any trouble with the sturdiness of the balls, but the yellow funnel does get knocked off occasionally. It goes back on easily enough, but disrupts the play temporarily.
Bottom line is that we really like this toy and are happy to have it in our toy collection

(More customer reviews)This is a kid-powered version of the busy ball popper. I recommend it for kids from sitting up through 2 years. No batteries, no sounds. The balls spin around fascinatingly, and for more fun the door opens so they skitter away! My son, now 15 months, got this for his first birthday and has played with it daily since, learning how to open and close the door himself, run to gather all the balls, then put them back and start over. Very engaging and lots of fun!

(More customer reviews)I bought the set of balls after realizing my baby was in need of having some Balls to play with, and these received decent reviews. When I received them, I was surprised how cheap they looked (no offense, Playskool). I know if I received these as something to play with, I'd be looking for something else.
But my kid loves 'em. We put it in the exersaucer with him, and he goes for the balls and tends to ignore the exersaucer activities. He especially loves the one that has the pop up from the top. And the other ones are fun to play with him...with.
If the Playskool Busy Balls were a person I was dating, there may not be instant chemistry, but once you get to know them, you get to love them.

(More customer reviews)At first glance the Playskool Musical Activity Ball and Gear Center looks impressive. It has five gears, music, and balls that drop, but then you realize.. is that it? The gears turn and music plays, but the balls simply roll seemingly without a purpose. You can see it in the video, but the concept is pretty basic you push a button, the gears spins, and music plays. While to me it seems pretty simple, but my 11-month old-daughter enjoys playing with it. While I wouldn't call it her favorite toy she does enjoy it....almost to my amazement.
Other notes
- 2 Double AA batteries required (not included)
- Easy to assemble
- Three main activities - the ball drop, the motorized gears, the manual gears
- Seems to be well built
Final Verdict - My initial thought was that my daughter would lose interest in less than 2 minutes, however I am surprised that she is playing with it a week later.

(More customer reviews)This toy has been a hit with our son. He has spent more time playing with these busy balls than with any other toy. He is now one year old, but has been tossing, rolling, and chasing them since about 5 months. These balls hold his attention for long periods of time.
They are very durable! Our son loves to tap them against the tile, watch them roll down the stairs and they have endured many rough landings. He also likes to feel the different textures. A few of the balls have parts that rotate different directions, so he enjoys exploring that feature too.
They are the perfect size for little hands.
I highly recommend this product.
