Yomega Lightbeam Review

Yomega Lightbeam
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is our 2nd Yoyo for the kids and the adults can't help but play with it as well. The attractive feature is the lights which makes you want to spin it and play with it often. This yoyo is considered Intermediate because it has a trans-axle. Our first yoyo is a Yomega Brain XP which is considered a beginner yoyo because it has the auto switch feature. The two yoyo's don't feel much different but the Lightbeam does seem to sleep a tad bit longer (by 3 to 5 seconds). I was expecting the trans-axle to spin noticeably longer but not so. We're expecting another Yoyo from Yomega (Maverick) which is in the Advanced category and has a bearing.
No negatives so far for the kids...the tricks that come on the DVD will be difficult to achieve with this yoyo. You really need an advanced or wing shaped yoyo for most string tricks such as the brain twister. The problem with string tricks and this yoyo is that there isn't enough space between the two sides of the yoyo for free spin. The friction is too great and the yoyo will quickly loose spin. I'm thinking a Wing shaped yoyo might be better.
We were a little disappointed in the color (nothing major but for a kid that's a big deal) as we were expecting a blue yoyo and we received an orange yoyo.
Overall the construction of the yoyo seems solid but if you hit it in the ground too many times as you release it you're bound to bend/break it. Our Yomega Brain XP is slightly bend around the axle and aside from a metal axle and lights there doesn't seem to be much difference in construction between this and the Yomega Brain XP.

Aerospin Yo-Yo Review

Aerospin Yo-Yo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This yo-yo simply does not sleep. "Adjust" it according to the manufacturer's instructions all day long, but the yo-yo halves fly apart before either of two fairly skilled players could make it sleep. I am an Aerobie fan, and the Aerospin feels very pleasing in the hand, really plush. If you want a yo yo that returns very quickly, VERY quickly, without hurting your palm, this one's for you. It looks super cool, but i returned mine in exchange for a less expensive Spintastics Tiger Shark, a MUCH better yo-yo for $5 less. I really don't think the Arospin is a "real" yo-yo since you can't do many tricks with it! I could do forward passes and loops, but forget anything that requires a sleeper. Note: my husband and I have 8 yo-yos ranging from 10-40 dollars. My favorite cheap yoyo is the Duncan Avenger, my top models the Mini Motu and xConvicts by Yomega, for reference.I hope this helps... Yo-yos rule.

Duncan Metal Zero™ Yo Yo ( Colors and Styles May Vary) Review

This yo yo is one of the best ive ever bought. The only con i see is that its soo heavy. Whenever I learn a new trick I try to use my lighter yo yos because is you end up hitting yourself with this, it hurts a lot. Even is you don't hit yourself just doing a hard sleeper makes your finger hurt. Everything else about it is great though.

Aerobie Aerospin Yo-Yo (Color May Vary) Review

Aerobie Aerospin Yo-Yo (Color May Vary)

I recently purchased this YO-YO for my grandson. Amazon displayed this model in both blue and yellow on the same page. I clicked on the blue one, since the order was for a boy, and completed the order. When the YO-YO arrived, the order sheet, with it, stated the color was blue, as ordered. The color I received was yellow. Naturally, my grandson wanted to play with it, so I kept it. I later notified the seller and only got only lip service, after I told them of the situation.
Perhaps if the two different colored YO-YO'S were displayed individually, this would have never happened.
NOTE: The YO-YO itself is great.
Larry

Duncan Bumble Bee Yo-yo Review

Duncan Bumble Bee Yo-yo
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These modern yo-yos are much improved over the classics such as the Imperial and the Butterfly. I'm an adult, avid Amazon.com shopper and am re-learning yo-yos The Duncan Bumblebbee is the best I've tried yet. I can't do tricks yet, but this one has a very because they are fun. This yo-yo has a smooth action and the sleep/spin time is fantastic. It does have a weird sound right before the yo-yo returns, but that might be the brake or is just spinning fast. So for that I give it 4 stars. Just under $9 here. When selecting a gift to a child, I recommend this one (the Bumblebee) or the Duncan Mosquito. For a few more $$$, you get a much better yo-yo than the classic Imperial or Butterfly. Those aren't bad, but invest a few $$ more and your child will like it better. It's a good, inexpensive toy, and for a child, they will learn concentration skills and hand-eye coordination.
