My daughter received this for Christmas from Santa and loves it! She hasn't stopped playing it. It's the perfect size for the bratz dolls. Her favorite part is the dance floor that flashes and plays music from her IPod. I would recommend this for sure!

The Movie Star Mansion is the Bratz Getaway The Bratz come to the mansion to relax and hide from the paparazzi now that they're big stars after the release of their blockbuster movie. They can relax with a smoothie at the juice bar, or dance on the light-up dance floor: Your girl can just plug in her MP3 player or radio and be their DJ! The Mansion Is Beautiful and High Tech The two-story mansion is constructed of sturdy plastic and features numerous archways, a balcony, a smoothie bar shaded by a giant palm tree, and windows and doorways with gothic treatments that resemble iron latticework.The feature that truly separates this playhouse from other dollhouses: a "dance floor" that interfaces with an MP3 player or a radio, which pipes the music through the floor. After turning on the light above the dance floor, your little one can make a mirror ball above the dance stage revolve by turning a thumbwheel. Because the rest of the features are so digitized, the fact that the mirror ball must be manually operated seemed a bit primitive, but this is a minor point. Mood lighting illuminates the interior of this palatial space with two lights under the eaves of the roof.The Mansion May Be Customized The owner of this mansion can "decorate" the rooms as she sees fit by using the roll of included stickers. Other than a chaise lounge, the interior is devoid of any furniture and adornment; the brownish beige stickers are meant to look like wood and to make the walls look less like (pink) plastic. Caution must be taken when applying stickers because they are not removable and cannot be repositioned; the mansion owner needs to be sure of her decision before adhesion. All of the stickers are numbered from 1 to 42, each corresponding to a particular and exact placement, which can be time-consuming and unforgiving of errors. One wants to be highly alert while peeling and adhering.There is plenty of room for expansion in the mansion. Mattel Matchbox Pop Up- Adventure Set Construction Zone Review

(More customer reviews)We have 4 of these different Pop Up Adventure Sets. We got most of them 6 months ago and they are still great toys. My son is 3 and he loves them. We only use them when we go to restaurants, but we eat out at least twice a week and usually more. I can carry a smaller one in my diaper bag and I keep them with a zip lock bag of matchbox cars. The are amazing because most of the pieces are attached so there aren't a ton of little parts floating around and getting lost! They can be hard to fold up, but after you do it a few times you get it figured out. Just don't throw away the directions until you've got it down. Great for a kid at a restaurant, or for times when they have to wait for a sibling to get done with an activity or something. The smaller sets (we like the car wash best in the smaller and the contruction zone best in the bigger sets) are great for an airplane ride, and both even work ok in a carseat. Kids of all ages watch my son play with his "buildings" when we are at breakfast. I highly recomend these sets.

(More customer reviews)I just brought this for my 5 year old daughter.The only major problem is that there is no volume control. Barbie sings and it is annoying, its so loud. On the plus side, there are not a lot of small parts to get lost or broken and my daughter does love it, but I have a feeling that it will only hold her attention for so long. So buy at your own risk.

Matchbox Pop-Up Construction Play Set Review

(More customer reviews)I almost didn't find this item, due to the rather inaccurate product desciption, but it's the 2nd MB set sold on Amazon, and part of 5 Adventure Sets. The other large one is the Dragon Castle, and the other 3 smaller ones are the Snake Jungle, Harbor Patrol, and Auto Center. They are all multi-level, interconnectable, playsets for Matchbox cars. Small enough to fold-up and take anywhere (after careful placement of the contents) and they become an even larger play area when you get more of them and interconnect them. You only get 2 ramps per set, and very odd positioning of the ramp connectors, making it somewhat difficult to get certain sets to link up, and nearly impossible to interconnect them all with ramps when you have all 5.
Despite the very thin plastic used, it's very durable, except for one side of one of the building frames, which keeps popping out of it's hinge (but does not break). There's a lot to do in this tiny area, with a wrecking ball, hook, two building roofs to snap on, a car launching cement mixer, and 2 levels of play. My son has a lot of fun with these playsets, and likes to close them up, and bring them from room to room. Each of these sets comes with one vehicle.
Parents of kids with younger siblings, please keep in mind that most of these have some smaller pieces, and the most hazardous are in the Snake Jungle set, with a VERY small trophy, and a round boulder. On most of the other sets, the small attachments were oblong shaped, and seem to be a tad larger than pieces that would normally present a choking problem.
All these sets are recommended for Matchbox fans, as the multi-level play areas, and even the thin scale design, add to the playability.

(More customer reviews)When I looked at the picture, before I bought this toy, I thought WOW what a great toy...look at all it does. Then, when I got it, it was just OK. It wasn't really what I thought it would be, including its size. But...wow, was I surprised...my daughter (10 months old) loved it...and still does. She has found ways to play with it that I never would have thought of (they always seem to do that!). Now, whenever it is around, she goes right for it. Even though children at her age get board quickly with toys and move on to other things, this is one toy she actually spends time with. So, overall, it am very pleased. It ended up to be a great purchase!

Bakugan Battle Gear Jetkor Review

(More customer reviews)As if the zillions of Bakugan creatures aren't clever (and expensive!) enough already, now they are getting "battle gear." This toy seems to work just fine and is durable. I buy them for my 7-year-old son who is crazy for Bakugan. I have two objections, though: the new toys don't stress enough hat they DON'T fit all the Bakugan--just the newer ones for which they are designed. Second, the advertising/packaging for his particular toy showed it attached to another Bakugan creature which gave my son (and me) the impression that the creature came with the battle gear. It does not, and that was a big disappointment for my son.

Magnetix I-Coaster Review

(More customer reviews)All of my family loved this toy. It involves a lot of real roller coaster physics. It can be a little frustrating at first because the ball flies off the track unless you get the angles correct. But after you get the hang of it, this toy is really fun for pretty much all ages. Do not buy this for impatient kids; they will get frustrated. The music feature is really nice. As well as continuous music, it has two gates that play selected music when a ball goes through them. There are quite a few selections for both kinds of music. The hyper stunts are very cool, too: a trampoline, a magnet that flips the ball around the outside of the track and onto a piece of track directly below it, a magnetic bar that carries the ball across the "ravine" to the other side, a circular piece of track that changes the ball's direction by 90 degrees (horizontally), a roller coaster loop, and a ###### piece of track for downward slopes (though that one is not particularly cool). 6 year olds should have adult/older brother help when building this toy. Pretty much all smart kids of 7+ can do this on their own. This toy takes a lot of trial and error, but is very rewarding when finished.

Vtech Infant Learning Rhyme and Discover Book Review

(More customer reviews)We got two of these Vtech Rhyme & Discover Books for our twins last Xmas (December 2008), and they played with these at least half an hour at a time, several times a day. At 10 months later the kids (now a little over 2 years old) still play with them regularly, anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes a day, sometimes more.
The books have been smeared by sticky hands and wipe clean well, and they have been dropped countless times without damage.
Just recently, 10 months later, we have changed the batteries (two AAAs) in one of the books, and the other one is still going on the batteries that came inside it.
The pros are:
*Price (you get lots of bells and whistles for this amount of money) and batteries included
*Durability
*Cleanability
*Visually interesting (Four panels or "pages," for a total of seven different pictures/sides to look at, plus a couple of two-sided movable pieces that make sound effects, and three light-up "tab" buttons in the shape of a lamb, kitten and puppy, each with their own sound effects)
*Huge musical variety -- some songs have a couple bars of vocals and some are just instrumental
("Ring around the rosie," "Twinkle twinkle little star," "Mary had a little lamb," "Little Bo Peep," "Hey diddle diddle," "Bingo," "Three little kittens," "This is the way we ...," "Old McDonald had a farm," "The farmer in the dell," "Rockabye baby," "This old man," "London Bridge is falling down," "Three blind mice," "Sur le pont d'Avignon")
The cons:
*The on-off switch has two volume choices, but the louder option is a little too loud for young ears. The lower volume is fine, and it would be nice if toy makers would put the volume switch somewhere less accessible to the child. My kids, and the ones I've babysat, all seem to like to crank the volume to the highest setting, and the highest setting seems as though it has the potential to damage hearing over the long term. (This is a problem with many toys, and not unique to this one.)
*It would be nice to have the entire song for some musical selections (you get only part of the song and not all the lyrics either), but it's not a huge minus considering how many songs are included
Overall, based on my kids' experience with this toy, I would recommend this to my friends and/or give as a gift.
Update October 2010: These books are still in the toy box rotation and going strong in spite of many falls to the floor and some banging on the play/train table. We changed batteries again, so in total one book has had its batteries changed once and the other has had batteries changed twice. Now that the kids are 3 years old, they don't play with these books as much, so we're getting ready to hand these down to a younger cousin.
