LEGO Bionicle Jetrax T6 (8942) Review

LEGO Bionicle Jetrax T6 (8942)
Average Reviews:

My son thinks the Jetrax T6 is very cool looking, but (as noted above) he does not enjoy it as much as his Axalara T6.
Here are the reasons why according to my son:
1. The mechanism that is supposed to control the movement of the wings is very hard to work and does not put the wings all the way down.
2. The parts come off more easily during play.
3. It tips backward when stationary.
4. The handle for holding it during play is a little small.
He plans to turn this piece into a "biocycle" with his Lego club code. If your child is a member of the Lego club, he can do the same thing. Just click on the "Play" icon and then type BIOCYCLE (must be all caps) in the club code box.

Jakks Pokemon Battle Dome Playset Review

Jakks Pokemon Battle Dome Playset
Average Reviews:

I completely agree with the other reviewer. Don't make the same mistake we did! My 6-year-old son decided to spend his birthday money on this Pokemon toy. Despite our unsuccessful efforts to talk him out of it, he insisted this was what he wanted and it came home with us. Oh brother, what a piece of junk. Very flimsy plastic pieces that don't securely fasten together, poor instructions and one Pokemon rubber toy is what you get. Of course, it looks impressive on the box, but once it's together (loosely-fitted together, that is), you have a poorly designed, poorly made toy. You also get a cardboard cutout of a Pokemon hospital that you fold together (woo hoo) and some cardboard backing that requires using your own tape to secure to the back of the toy. Only one thing was no surprise in this surprisingly bad toy: our 6-year-old becoming bored with it in a couple days.

Automatic Tommy 20 (battery operated) w/ 20 darts Review

Automatic Tommy 20 (battery operated) w/ 20 darts
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Auto Tommy 20 is the fully automatic version of the Mech Tommy 20.
I was at first curious as to how this gun worked because I couldn't see how 3 AA batteries could build up that much air pressure in such a short time, but I've found that this gun doesn't use air pressure at all. It shoots out the Nerf darts by pushing them through two spinning wheels much like how an automatic football or tennis ball thrower works.
Here are my comments on the most important criteria of a Nerf gun:
1) Power: Quite powerful, more power than your regular spring powered piston pushing Nerf gun and as powerful as some of the hand pumped air pressure Nerf guns.
Grade: Very good.
2) Speed: As advertised, this gun can pump out shots quickly and plaster your opponent with bullets before he can hand pump out 2 or 3. This is really an automatic machine gun when you keep your finger on the trigger. But they are not as fast as a air pump gun with a pressure reservoir.
Grade: Good.
3) Accuracy: Surprisingly accurate, except when it shoots crooked darts, so just make sure all your darts are straight. And sometimes the spinning wheels don't catch the dart right and spits them out all wobbly.
Grade: Very good.
Additional comments: The trigger is also the on switch for the spinning wheels. When you pull the trigger it spits a dart into the wheels and the wheels shoot the dart out. The only problem is that it takes a second or so for the spinning wheels get up to speed so the first dart often doesn't have a lot of power. The way to get around that is to only squeeze the trigger just enough to start the wheels spinning, then pull the trigger all the way to spit the dart into the wheels. This way, the dart hits the wheels when they're going full power and your first dart will be as powerful as the next ones.
They also improved the dart holder barrel so that each dart holder is narrower at the bottom. This way the darts won't fall out when you point the gun downwards. A small point, but it just goes to show how detailed this company is. Two thumbs up!
Postcript/6 month review: In firefights, this is always the first gun chosen, we have like 20 nerf guns around the house so I think it says a lot for it. It combines firepower with speed. Some of the reviews complain about jamming. Our Tommy20 doesn't jam. The problem with jamming is threefold. One, make sure your bullets are straight, it's crooked bullets which cause jamming and not the gun. Two, use that trick where you squeeze the trigger to get the wheels up to speed, and then squeeze all the way to fire. That way your gun shoot even the first bullet out at full speed and minimizes the chance of jamming. Three: Use new batteries. Apart from that I have nothing much more to say, it's everyone's favorite gun here. If I only could chose one gun to go to a desert island I'd pick this one.

Mini Battleship Keychain Review

Mini Battleship Keychain
Average Reviews:

I appreciated the opportunity to review this product. Considering the size of the game (it's small enough to literally fit on your keychain), it's a neat product. Unfortunately, in order to make the game so small, the actual ship is really tiny. My daughter literally lost one of the ships just opening the game.
The game is not cheaply made, and, as stated above, the configuration is altered. That's okay. You do have to keep track of your guesses on a separate sheet of paper, which limits where you can play the game. For example, it may be hard to use in a moving car.
Overall, I like the game. I think it's creative, and well-made. It's easy to attach to your keyring or carry it in a pocket, and it will keep 2 people interested for a little while. It's a good stocking stuffer.

To play Battleship: Remove box lid from Battle Station platform. Attach Battle Station platform into underside of lid and snap shut. Position ships on ocean grids - each player gets 1 ship. Take turns calling out shots using coordinates on the top and side of the ocean grid. Keep track of hits and misses by writing down all coordinates. Be the first to sink your opponent's Battleship and you win! Two can play! NOTE: The configuration of the Battle Stations has been altered, and the number of Battleships reduced to accomodate the miniature keychain size.

Spalding Never Flat Official Size Basketball Review

Spalding Never Flat Official Size Basketball
Average Reviews:

I got this ball as a Christmas present and love it. The ball is nice and tacky, feels almost as good as an indoor composite ball.
For the previous reviewer that could not figure out how to inflate it further, the air valve is not totally sealed, but stopped. You are able to fit a needle past the block and still inflate the ball. I received mine at about 8 PSI which is a little low to my likings. I inflated it to 9 PSI and it feels great now.

Spalding's Never Flat basketball is the first-ever ball with proprietary pressure retention technologies guaranteed to hold air up to 10 times longer than traditional basketballs. Traditional basketballs lose air on a consistent basis, resulting in a ball that falls out of official game ball specification within a few months. Spalding's Never Flat ball utilizes exclusive full-ball construction technologies to dramatically increase pressure retention.
A new membrane and NitroFlate air technology virtually eliminates air's ability to escape. This new membrane technology tightens the natural pores in the ball's bladder to improve pressure retention. In addition, proprietary NitroFlate molecules are injected into the ball, forming a protective barrier against air seepage. It also features a redesigned valve with cap to eliminate leaks and keep dirt out.
This official-sized ball provides consistent NBA Game Ball bounce height for at least one year. It's made from high-performance composite leather, which provides leather-like softness and superior grip.
About Spalding As a Division of Russell Corporation, the Spalding Group consists of three business units: Spalding in Springfield, MA; American Athletic, Inc. (AAI) in Jefferson, IA; and Huffy Sports, in Sussex, WI. The three companies, collectively combined, are now the largest basketball equipment supplier in the world. Spalding is the official basketball supplier of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the official backboard of the NBA and NCAA, the official volleyball of the King of the Beach Volleyball Tour and the official football of the Arena Football League (AFL) and Pop Warner.

Tomy Screwball Scramble Game Review

Tomy Screwball Scramble Game
Average Reviews:

Similar to "Mousetrap" in that the young player must figure out how things work to succeed, this game focuses on getting the ball from the start of the course to the end. It is similar to the "Labyrith" games but instead of just tipping the table to roll the ball, the player must get the ball through a series of brain puzzles to move on to the next section. My 6 yr old son loves this game and will play with it for long periods of time. He sticks with it even after many of the adults have thrown in the towel. This game is highly recommended.
