(More customer reviews)This is the base toy for all of the Zhu Zhu or Go Go pets sets... It is the hamsters house.. They know what room they are in and act accordingly.. Brush teeth in the bathroom and sleep in bed.. This set has kept my children entertained for hours!!! It has gotten me out of having to buy a real Hamster and when they don't feel like playing with it - they don't have to or feel neglectful. No smell and no buying food.. I can not wait for the babies and outfits to come out. They be expensive right now because of the high demand. but still well worth it. Enjoy!!!

Zhu Zhu Pets Add On Hamster Wheel Review

(More customer reviews)We've got pretty much all of the accesories for the Zhu Zhu pets. The wheel actually does not move freely very well but the hamster will go down the tunnel get on the wheel and run in place then back down the tunnel. At first I was very dissappointed that the wheel wasn't really spinning (it does move but spinning is a stretch) but my 4 year old didn't seem bothered by it. now I actually kind of prefer this one because it's one that actually keeps the hamster contained in the funhouse. The slide lets the hamster out onto the floor as does the car and garage which is fine if you have a very large area for the whole set but the hamster runs better in the plastic pieces. As for durability the slide and garage are constantly coming detached (the 2 year old tends to knock them around) but this one has stayed attached pretty good, maybe because the tunnel is shorter than others. If you're not familiar with these you should know the accessories are snap together pieces - the plastic isn't flimsy but the fact that they just 'snap' together means they also snap apart rather easily. So while the accessories are constantly coming apart or detached they aren't breaking (which is good) but my 4 year old can't really snap them back together on his own so it's more work for me.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this entire set for my 4 yr old daughter about a month ago and it is the greatest toy ever! Yes, the garage does fall apart and the doors fall off, but all I used was one piece of tape all the way around to secure the roof and since then there hasn't been a problem at all!! You can't even see the tape, and it is a very easy fix. I do recommend that you use the tape trick especially if you have little ones like I do. They just aren't as gentle as older kids and she tended to knock the roof off easliy. I do not find that the hamsters get stuck at all. Most people don't really understand how these little guys work. First and foremost you have to replace the batteries in all the hamsters when you get them home. The batteries are only for in-store use and it says so on the instructions and on the website as well. Once you change the batteries....wow watch these little guys go! Secondly you have to pay attention to the tunnel directions, again in the instructions and the website, otherwise they will not work correctly. Thirdly, they do NOT get stuck, they make their own little decisions...just let them go and see what they do! My daughter LOVES these and has played with them non stop since she got them over a month ago. For the price they are great! (Not on amazon though, look at toys r us or walmart, or especially ebay instead they have the whole set for a pretty good deal!)

Zhu Zhu Pets Skateboard & U-Turn Review

(More customer reviews)I bought 3 zhu zhus and the skateboard/uturn add on. The actual hamsters are really pretty great (see my review under Pipsqueak), but this add on was such a waste.
It's pretty tough to get the hamster locked in place on the skateboard (i.e. he doesn't get on it on his own like the car add on). Pressing on the hamster's back while pushing up on the skateboard seems the best way to get it locked on there, but pushing on its back also activates the wheels- making keeping it in place quite a challenge. My 3 yr old cannot get the hamster locked on the skateboard. She initially resorted to getting in on halfway and pushing it around like a manual operation toy/car. Now she's just given up all together. She still carries the accessory around and shows it to the hamster, but doesn't even bother trying.
The u-turn is also a waste. It's so light that the hamster can't get into it on its own. Every time we've gotten a hamster near it- it just pushes the darn uturn across the floor- somtimes making the honking horn sound. It's even worse if you've gotten the hamster skateboard and try getting it through the u-turn.
It is kind of neat to see the hamster tearing across the room on the board once you've gotten him in there, but not enough to make it worth the $.

(More customer reviews)We have several Zhu Zhu components and this one is the most boring. It just doesn't have very interesting sound effects (and yes, the tunnel is pointing the right direction). Even the hamsters only seem to use it because you have to go through it to get to the slide. Also, the paper was laid down wrong and is wrinkled, which is kind of annoying.
