(More customer reviews)The pole in this set it so cheap. It doesn't withstand any play time at all. We ended up throwing the pole away and used a steel post instead. The ball is also on the cheap side and broke after a few months of playing with it. It just came apart at the top where it is attached to the rope.

I returned them.
If you want these to keep some kids busy, fine. Otherwise spend the money to get real bocce balls. These are made from a soft plastic so they don't knock each other around like they should, they just sort of bump. They are water filled and vary from 100% full to half full. So they don't weigh the same or behave the same. That makes it impossible to be consistent.
Completely worthless junk unless, like I said, you need to keep some kids busy. In that case they are very inexpensive fun crap. But don't leave them where they could freeze. I'm sure the ones that are 100% full would crack open if they froze.

Park & Sun TP-158 Deluxe Power Pole Tetherball Set Review

(More customer reviews)I was concerned about the pole being assembled from two pieces, and that was exactly what was wrong with it. Once assembled, the pole was extremely wobbly since (1) the ground sleeve was too short to keep the lower pole piece firmly in place, and (2) the top pole section, once inserted into the bottom, is very unstable. Better solution is to just go to your local fence supplier and buy an 11 foot section of 1 5/8 inch or 1 3/4 inch fence post and matching ground sleeve (min 12 inches, or longer - just make sure to extend the pole length to accomodate the longer ground sleeve). Then just buy the rope and ball set. My local fence co charged $25, and that included a cap and eye ring at one end so I could connect a teatherball rope. FYI, I tried to contact Park and Sun for their feedback about my comments and they never bothered to reply. Don't waste your money.

The game isn't as easy as it looks, but once you discover the technique even young children can be successful! The game assembles and packs up easily. When we ordered it, it did arrive with one piece missing, but the company, Funfinity, was extremely responsive and quickly had the missing part sent to me in plenty of time for my son's party! We will be playing this one for years to come!

Basically, because we can play the blongo ball game with a larger distance between the posts. Also, the softer balls are too light and tend to rotate off the blongo ball poles.
