I ordered a whole box of them, and it is so much fun to see the face of the recipient when they push the little button and the thing starts whizzing around, all lit up. I even keep one on my own desk and pick it up every once in a while when I am working and watch it spin and sparkle and change colors and shapes! It gives my eyes a little much-needed break from the computer screen strain! Seriously, I have given these to little kids as young as 4 years old, pre-teens, teenagers, and even a lady in her 60s. EVERYONE loves them! They do come with a battery, but they spin faster and brighter if you put your own Energizer or Duracell battery in them! I am sooooo glad that I found these things!! What a hoot!!!!!

(More customer reviews)I bought this wand to distract my twin girls (age 7 months) when they get their pictures taken. They are very afraid of strangers and will just cry and cry throughout the session. There are other occasions where their emotions get built up and they don't cooperate, such as when we need to apply a cream of some sort. This wand is awesome in either situation. We just turn on the bling and let them watch. It re-diverts their attention and calms them down. As a bonus, I also received a piece of "flair" -- a blinking badge! I won't be able to use it until the babies are older, but it amuses me. Definitely recommend buying from Magic Matt's Brilliant Blinkees.

(More customer reviews)My granddaughter got this for a favor at a birthday party. After I had played with it, I asked for one for myself. It makes the most amazing variety of patterns and color combinations, yet the needed button-pushing will keep the little ones from burning out the batteries too quickly. I don't yet know how sturdy it is but it seems well made and baring crushing the globe, should last as long as any flashlight would. For any holiday this will add a festive bit of show. I recommend it.
