(More customer reviews)we got the these for christmas and they were a big hit. we got the rody max for my son who is 4 and we got the regular one for my daughter who is almost 2. i was originally thinking of getting the classic hippity hops so i went searching and found these. they were more money but much more fun. the big one did not fall forward at all. the little one went forward a few times but my daughter figured out how to not fall forward in a few minutes. we blew them up with a regular hand pump. cute, colorful and bouncy what's not to love.

Gymnic / Gyffy the Inflatable Hopping Giraffe Review

(More customer reviews)I had a really hard time deciding between Rody and Gyffy. At the time I made my purchase, Gyffy was $10 less, so I let that make the call in the end.
My son LOVES this toy. He is three-and-a-half, and he has been restless with indoor play this winter. Gyffy has given him a way to get hours of exercise indoors. He wrestles with it, bounces on it, watches TV sitting on it, and even drags it to the table to "drink" some milk out of a sippie cup.
He also loves shooting Gyffy with a Nerf dart gun. (And I'll have to admit, Gyf is pretty darn cute with twelve Nerf darts stuck to his big yellow hind end.)
There's a feeling of indestructibility to Gyffy that allows me to relax as he plays. He is NOT like an inflatable pool toy. Think more like a snow tube. Tough stuff.
If you have coffee tables with corners, hard floors, etc., you might want to supervise play. Part of the fun of Gyffy is the unpredictability of a hard bounce on him. That's also part of the risk. Since my kid would be bouncing off something anyway, I'd rather have a Giffy to absorb some of the blow. :)
Here's my main question. Would the longer ears on Rody be easier for a child to hold onto while bouncing? Gyffy's ears are cute, but more knobby. They seem large enough to hold, IF my son were interested in holding onto them. But I can't tell which would be best. I wish a bridle were available. That seems like the perfect solution.
This product is infinitely more fun than a rocking horse. It is light enough for a child to move, sturdy, cuddly, and provides enough exercise for a determined kid to break into a decent sweat. Love it.

(More customer reviews)Our son has been playing with his Rody since he got it when he was almost 2. He's always been particularly active and he took to it immediately. It's now more than a year and a half later and, while other toys and playthings have gone in and out of fashion, Rody is still his favorite with no sign of waning.
I can't believe how durable this thing is! Our son rides it HARD indoors and out, but Rody can certainly take a licking. It's so great to see a toy last these days.
It's also terrific for stimulating creative play--our son the cowboy has ridden his trusty horse Rody on many an exciting adventure. There was also the barn he built for Rody out of an old box, where Rody slept for a few weeks after we put him to bed each night. And during Christmastime, Rody was a reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh.
And it's incredible exercise too! He just looks like he's having so much fun on it. Our younger son is 16 months and has already started eyeballing Rody and trying to get on it. We'd better get a second one soon to avoid World War III in our house. I really can't recommend this toy enough. It's safe and fun and good for your kid. In these days when it seems that every toy is battery operated and obnoxious, nothing beats Rody for some good, old-fashioned fun. As a parent of 2 young children, and a VERY discriminating toy shopper, I'm delighted to recommend Rody whole-heartedly.
