My gumball machine was also broken (it was missing part of the mechanism that drops the gumballs) and I ended up buying one stand-alone to replace it.

Hello Kitty Luck Ball (Red Version) Review

(More customer reviews)As another reviewer said, this is a different design than your average "Magic 8-ball". This is a wheel on a spring system inside of a plastic Hello Kitty ball. Cute but kind of clunky and clumsy. Not very smooth at all. My niece loves Hello Kitty so I have no doubt that she'll enjoy this ball. She 6 years old so she'll either play with it until it breaks in a week or she won't be bothered to play with it at all and it'll last for years. Who knows?

Hello Kitty: Peace and Love - 240 Piece puzzleball Review

(More customer reviews)Our family spent two evenings after dinner building this puzzle and we all had a lot of fun. With each piece numbered, it taught the kids sorting and counting since there are about 250 pieces. It did take an adult to push some pieces together. It is not a toy to hand to a young kid and expect them to build it on their own. My 6 & 7 year old enjoyed it and it sits in my daughter's room proudly on display :)
