(More customer reviews)This Hot Wheels casting has been around since 1986, but it's taken until the 2010 mass produced range to come out in a decent scary representation colour. Back in 1986 it was released in orange with black spots on its back (acne or something). If you're looking for it, it was released under the name Cargoyle. Exact same vehicle as Road Cannibal, except the paint job. You can get it in a few colours from its various year releases, pretty much colours you'd find in a fruit shop, orange, yellow, purple and so on. This was also released ten years later (1996) under the name Grizzlor as well, the colours were a bit better when it took on the newer name. You can get a white one on an orange engine, or even better, a cow skin themed one (white with black spots on a red motor). This Road Cannibal is black with a gold motor, the teeth are part of the motor and the same colour. The base (undercarriage) is a dull silver colour. The driver's seat in the creature's back is also the same gold colour as the engine. There's no steering wheel so I guess you're really just a passenger in this possessed car.
The body design looks like a bat on wheels without the wings. It's wearing a guard dog type studded collar. The creature does have a tail tucked up over its foot, which is the rear wheel guard. This also comes on a nice blister card, if you're a keeper in the pack type displayer. The illustration looks pretty close to the vehicle you get, except it has different wheels, primarily the hubcaps. The illustration is a lighter shade of black or even dark grey you could say.
A nice piece for any collection. Best of all it's part of the 2010 mass produced Hot Wheels range so you'll find plenty of these in supermarkets, department stores, toy stores and everywhere else you find the mass produced range. Also means there were plenty made so you should be able to find it for a reasonable price if you're reading this review after 2010. Other creature cars in the 2010 mass produced range are Fangster, Sharkruiser and 2010 Howlin' Heat.
