(More customer reviews)I paid $50 Canadian Dollars for this DVD set in 2005 and I would pay them again. Romaine is perhaps the best classical card and billiard ball manipulator. Some of the material in this DVD set can be found in Edward Marlo's Booklet on Fan productions, the Tarbell Course, Jean Hugard's books, etc. But Romaine explains the technical improvements of the last years and the most effective methods only. You would have to study the classic books, practice and actually perform a manipulation act for years to gain the insight provided in these DVDs by yourself.
This product is not for amateurs. If you don't waste time playing with lots of new tricks, as the average amateur does, and you study and practice seriously, you can prepare a good manipulation act in one year studying this material. And you will save a lot of money too, as you would spend $200 US or more to buy the different books you need to learn all the techniques explained by Romaine. The best: Romaine does not waste your time with fancy techniques of no practical use. You get only what is effective as well as how to perform it in the most effective way: From how to prepare, grip, conceal, load, produce and vanish cards and balls, what cards to use, when to use or not to use gloves, etc., to your behaviour on stage. Romaine will not waste your time with things that look pretty buy don't work when you try them in a real performance.
